The PDAs are still some unknown to the general public
Today Zebus has done a aloud reflection with which I fully agree.
Like all the years that I have since I bought the first pda, I wanted everybody to see everything that is capable of making these devices and wanting to be the best-selling gift for Christmas so we can have more friends with whom talk, comment on and things to tap into these devices.
But year after year I still do not start seeing increases in sales and always stay ahead of other devices.
This Christmas which could be conducive to this long-awaited BOOM and emerging market devices that are putting aside to PDAs, I mean the console, digital cameras and mp3 simple (Xbox 360, PSP, iPod, Nintendo Ds, etc. ...) If a lot of what makes these devices can be made more or less with PDAs.
Maybe if Palm, show a little more publicity and venderores many shops do not advertise PDAs as simple agendas but pretty expensive, you could reach that BOOM that users of PDAs that we want to reach.
We will have to overcome ourselves that BOOM.
Let's be realistic, we all know what a PDA was by chance. Or a friend had pileup that we had never seen before, or pass through the area of the store of technology that has those devices that do not know that noses are worth. I consider myself a great fan of technology, and yet I did not see an up this year that I used in college for an internship. But if it were not for this chance, would continue without knowing anything about them.
It is time they decide to sell to the general public as something more than "the screen where the information comes out of the car's GPS", which is the only role as sellers have (no more than take a stroll for any large area generalist).
Lords of Palm, spend a few euros in advertising, generate excitement, dense released. I made it difficult to think of something more appealing than a small, lightweight device that makes so many things, has a very attractive design, a huge geek factor to use each and every one of the buzzwords of the moment (bluetooth, wireless, portable, computerized , Etc) and above is feasible always carry over to all parties, not as a piece of notebook computer, and on the other side without having a ridiculously small screen such as mobile phones. Every time I see the millions of iPods to be sold, which in the end only worth listening to music, or PSPs, which remains a somewhat portable video game device, I imagine what would happen if they finally put fashion PDAs .

I very much agree with what you comment frameworks and I am surprised that the manufacturers do not get more involved in selling "ready to use solutions" for the user as is the case with the GPS on PDA.
In this regard I've been looking for such a solution to use my Tungsten T3 as a manoslibres Bluetooth. I got in the car and use it as GPS, also use it to dial phone numbers via bluetooth from my agenda but I have been unable to find a utility that allows me to use it later as the mobile manoslibres (exploiting his microphone and headset). This would be a typical utility that would make most users would be decided by a PDA but it seems that it is not possible ... or is not attractive to manufacturers ....
Aproveho to ask: You know some development to use a palm (not treo) as manoslibres?
Best regards.
First of all, I have found a very interesting, Gaspar.
Not having bluetooth on my mobile (and microphone in the E2) I've never tried to use it as a hands-free, so I do not know of any program that does what you want. As he says, things are feasible but do not have sufficient demand to make the program that someone needed.
An obvious example is when Microsoft comment during the presentation of the Treo with Windows Mobile, where presumían he could answer incoming calls with an SMS and that PalmOS could not. A few days later appeared SharkMSG, who did the same thing over and free.
I was gonna write here what I found on your problem, but I decided to post directly on the blog. A greeting and thanks for proposing interesting topics
Is that this blog is a couple of years ago ... but I want to tell you that it is very interesting. And have many reasons, as well imagine that there also have iPods in our entonrno PDA `s ... the whole world would be more productive. And it is true, so far this palm spending a little more on advertising but still falls short by exposing the numerous capabilities of these devices. And that hurts the development of the Garnet is also staying short.
Hello Jhonatan.
I think the picture is better than two years ago: the rise of smartphones, and in general for the mobile capability to synchronize with your PC, is approaching the great mass of these facilities.
Recently I've done with a Nokia 5200, which is far from a phone earns high (even uses Symbian), and I was surprised that brings a calendar, contacts (of course), tasks and notes very functional, with capacity to synchronize with Outlook, and so on.
PDAs as such are losing sales every day, did not reach the mass market because of its low price and advertising. But his legacy is that it has been shown that the PIM tools are really useful, and is in smartphones, UMPCs, or what they have to come, we will always have a handy device that takes its functionality. and I think that every day more people will be with one of them.
Very sensible post a comment. PIM tools are coming in almost all devices. But that is the most basic and important, but debebos We have to remember that we need to consult many documents, reviewing graphics, porting files, editing, internet consult at least a decent screen. And do not you, but at least I prefer to have a separate PDA and a phone separate basics. Now that there is wifi everywhere, you can download mail and surf easily even without cost, and a PDA is perfect for this purpose by its portability. I have seen happy with TX and a wireless keyboard that allows her to work anywhere, really, anywhere.
Thanks for your answer, that these well-Marcos.
You are absolutely right, I can have my job if these amenities, but when you have to be a long time outside the office so you comment becomes imperative.
I invite you to read the morning and post me your opinion
