Palm will use Linux
I read in IBLNews, Paul Blinkhorn, vice president for Asia-Pacific of Palm, confirmed the likelihood that China enters a Palm Treo using Linux, while still producing Treos that use Palm OS.

Linux can run well on a PDA
OSMurcia, the blog of the Open Source Community of Murcia, expands the story, commenting that
Currently produces Palm Treos that use Palm OS (650) and Windows (700w). Apparently in China are not going to launch the Treo that runs Windows, opting for a version with Linux. Recently, the parent of PalmSource (creators of PalmOS), Access Co, China acquired a company that develops software for mobile phones based on Linux.
This rumor of the use of Linux for future Palm devices, has been going through the network several months, but the possibility of being used in the Asian market seems feasible, given the strong interest of countries like China, Japan or Korea in the use of free software , For the added security and technological independence with respect to U.S. companies that offer.
