Program in BASIC applications with and for your Palm
The first time that I put myself to program something in my computer, 286 with 512Kb of ram that still walks by my room I did, it in BASIC. For that reason it has brought pleasing memories to find iziBasic me.
iziBasic is a compiler of BASIC for Palm. According to they comment in Palm247 first that draws attention is the facility with which one can begin to make a programita. In addition it has support for the creation as much as much applications of way text as graphical. If BASIC has some virtue it is its facility of learning, and by the east sight it programs allows you that it is also very easy to program something for PalmOS. In fact it incorporates a series of functions that allow to simplify things that in other languages are much more complicated. For example there is an instruction that draws a button in the screen, and only needs like parameters the coordinates, the width, the stop and the text. Any programmed inexperienced will develop easily with this surroundings in just a short time.

iziBasic is only a compiler. We will have to even write it to the code in the publisher that we want, like a Memo. The result is programs that work without needing installing no additional software in the Palm where they are going to run. The functionalities that emphasize more at the time of creating our programs are:
- A window “About” personalizeable.
- Bellboys
- Checkboxes
- Bellboys with image
- Labels
- Fields for numerical text entrance/
- Menus
- Detection of pulsation of keys hardware
In summary, a very good way to begin to experiment with the programming in our Palm.

Hello Walter. Like general rule, only the archives that have extension “.prc” and “.pdb” can install in the Palm. The others, are for executing in your PC, text files, etc. For example, to install Izibasic, is really only necessary the file “izibasic_trial.prc”. The others that come in zip are some programs of example and utilities for the PC.
Several interpreters to BASIC for Palm exist in addition. For example, there am shortage recently this other that in addition is gratuitous.
