Important notice for possessing a Tungsten T | X
The creator of very useful programs very well-known as UDMH, Dimitry Grinberg, has found the solution to a problem that apparently has the Palm Tungsten T | X. Leo TamsPalm a note sent by Dimitry himself:
How much pain can cause an app? Let me tell you a story about the TX. Even after a hard reset, the TX has fragmented its dynamic heap with the biggest free chunk just 2MB. An application causes this. An application by itself loathed by many and that will likely be loathed by even more for this. The application is Blazer. After installing MemUnfragment by Dmitry Grinberg, the ram is no longer fragmented
In short, the 4MB of Dynamic Heap of the T | X, only 2Mb are contiguous, available to load a large application. This limits the maximum size of an application, and involves lack of memory crashes. The cause is Blazer, the web browser that is not favorably impressed. Dimitry has therefore created MemUnfragment, which is responsible for defragment this memory, again creating a gap of 4Mb in it, as it should from the outset.
In a commentary on the news itself, however, warns that this program will correct the problem, but slows the loading of applications. Dimitry probably refine this program in the future, but for now, will be very useful for users of the T | X that want to use programs that require all memory of the Dynamic Heap possible, as the LJP. If any holder of the T | X has more on this topic, or try this program, I would appreciate comment on their impressions here.

Hello! Very good your blog. I have the TX (formerly had the Zire 72) and truth is that I am increasingly convinced is the best palm ever to be released. Too bad there is an application called Wifigenie does not work in TX. Wifigenie serves to mount network drives like an SD card to the palm. Imagine having a virtual SD card 160 GB!!

I have an E2 and consider it the very best, but certainly if the TX is at least as stable, I agree with you that it is a marvel.
Wifigenie did not know about, but you're right, often program. I am also seeing that even works over bluetooth. I'll take a look ...
Oh, and surely in a few months they release a version compatible with the T | X.
This is not for the Tungsten E2? I have followed the good instructions on this site for free ... but actually cache DBCacheTool defragments the cache not only frees.
The reset goes well to defragment, but curiously, not leave me much free cache as expected. I guess when you start everything by default (zlauncher, DA) leaves me with little cache although very little fragmented.
In Palmpowerups.com Dimitry says clearly:
"Description: For Palm TX only. After a soft reset dynamic memory is fragmented [biggest chunk is 2 MB], after installetion of this utility, it will be 4 MB. "
I've ruined my E2 again for using your UDMH, so if it says the TX is only going to listen.
Dimitry speaks on dynamic memory. That is the Dynamic Heap, which is different from the DbCache. I think this defragmenter DbCacheTool and do completely different things (defragment different memories).
Regarding to memory after a reset. Without running the DbCacheTool nothing else to do a reset or anything like that, my E2 is about 4.8 MB of free memory and defragmented (in one set). If you are under, is for programs that load at startup. Although the DA just consume about pcos Kb, I do not think they are the culprits. From Zlauncher and can not tell you. Try fixing them with RLOCK.

Hi all, Please, I need help, my TX is brand new ... not how to setup the WIFI .. (e tried, and even my Palm try to find some networks to connect, etc ... but it turns out later that afternoon served perfectly, now at night I only give WIFI click configuration and locks, as if you pick the icon of the WEB and grafiquita in the main menu.
I lock the TX, shuts down and restarts ... how do I solve it or to reset the thing is down?

If you can not fix the problem, leaving the T | X as coming from factory will have to do a hard reset. It is explained, along with other types of reset, in this post:

Hello I have the same problem with my TX clicking the icon turns off and reset wifi alone and I've done full reset factory I left (for the last time ke ke try did not work) ... the technical service the tube ke ir to seek with the police the guy did not give me keria jaja (no kidding) ... and also not under asi ke no longer trust the service technician .. if anyone knows ke le step and knows how to fix it please thanks
Que tal? I had a similar problem and solved it as they ditch (the second time I passed).
I have a TX. After opening some programs (I forget which, but they were for earlier versions of PalmOS 5) wen was reset my TX endless loop. To do that between the operating system had to let down the "up" button on your browser. Thus fell, but disappeared WiFi icon on the toolbar states and had many things that they were not, even when opened some more or less heavy program was reset again and entered the loop.
The solution was almost by accident as I was resigned to having to do a hard reset, so I started to make a backup "by hand" by copying all the files from my palm to the memory card with Filez frograma.
Half of the copy is reset again, but only this time start normally without any problems, works perfectly.
It really is not that may have happened, only that worked jajaj

It seems that some program was causing the resets, and move it to the SD and reboot, there were no more problems. Try to always use the latest version of every program, and to avoid incompatible with NVFS programs.
Hi ... regarding the problems of WiFi, and the icon disappears, the easiest way is to give a hard reset, but before backing, so you have your TX ... and ready to me it works.

I used the MemUnFragment and it worked, only the first time I installed the card and did not work. The second time I installed it internally in the palm and it worked correctly with power48 ROM 49G. Thank you all and I use the 49G on the Palm TX.
I'm glad it works for you. So also other users of a TX because they know they can get to run the HP calculator emulator.
