The 8 types of Reset for PalmOS
I have found a document very interesting for when we want to recover our Palm of a disaster. Besides the soft and hard reset, exists other special ones, as well as some related to programs that can block our PDA completely.
Reset soft, Double Reset Soft, Warm Reset, Hard Reset, You extend Hard Reset, FlashPro Reset, JackFlash Reset and Debug Reset, nothing less than eight types different from reset, that are explained in this page.

In order to update (to change the language of) the applications of Palm OS 5.2.1 that come basic (address, calc, expense, it dates book,…), that type of reset is necessary to do? Really this cannot be done (they estan in ROM in different languages)?

By my own experience, to change to the language a soft reset is not enough, is necessary hard reset. With doing backup of your Palm before realising it, you will be able to recover your Palm to as it were in a while.
With respect to if the ROM it brings the applications in several languages, in the modern models it is thus, my E2 at least has a version of each program by supported language. In Palm older I am not safe, since I have not had any.
To verify it is easy. Using a program like Filez (and activating the option to see archives in ROM), enconrarás files like: AddressBook_esES, AddressBook_frFR, etc. Itself there is a AddressBook, then you will only be able to have it in English (I suppose).

I do not have knowledge of any application that reclaims erased archives of the ram of a Palm, since it uses an own format. If one were archives that were in a card SD (or the internal memory of a Lifedrive or Tungsten T5) would be easy, since they use the system of files FAT, but as I say when being the internal memory not you to you I can help.
Hello, I have been several days trying to realise `hard reset' to Palm TX. There is no form; itself the intrucciones Manual of User. To push button of ignition and, then, with `lapiz' of the Palm in the Reset button. There is no way, although it maintains it tight, and following the aforesaid instructions, length time.
