How to load the lithium ion batteries

Ricardo of mildiez.net, has bought a T | X, and it is another La Palma in love with your machine. Is that it is left wanting much. Besides thank you have mentioned in the post, I strongly recommend reading it because it makes a very good explanation of how we should deal with the battery of Lithium Ion (LiIon) of our Palm.

Evita as possible that your battery is discharged completely often

Contrary to general belief about the care of batteries, let your battery drains completely before putting it to charge makes it go slowly deteriorating. For Lithium-ion batteries is much better to make frequent refills, without have been downloaded too. Ideally completely recharge our batteries when they are 50% -60% of its capacity. To take one example, I follow that policy with my Palm and takes about 4 days (depending on use, of course. It may be less or more than 4 days) to reach 50% -60% of its capacity. That's when I return you to charge up to 100%. I have never had less than 50% of capacity.

Ã? Sto it may shock people who have a laptop and think that the battery life of your laptop has decreased considerably due to loading while to be used. Well, that does not repent for not having done more carefully, because they could not do anything. If the battery is Lithium Ion policy to be followed is that which I have mentioned here. The problem is that laptop batteries have a problem "Birth": The durción of lithium ion batteries is seriously affected by high temperatures. It is the high temperature reaching laptops which makes the duration of his battery drops so quickly. One way to "lengthen your life" could remove the battery when we plugged in (although some manufacturers warn that the dust that accumulate in the "hole" of the battery would also be problematic).

In short, load a Lithium Ion battery when it is not completely discharged will not harm the battery at all (that happened with the nickel-based batteries).

In the battery charging indicator (such as those in laptops), a recalibration performed once every 30 loads normal

The batteries have included a circuit that serves as a battery (which serves for example with an LED to indicate its level of charge). Well, with successive loads of these batteries, the indicator is losing little by little accuracy. To avoid this, it is good to do a recalibration, that is, letting the battery is discharged completely and then upload up to 100%. This does not hit the first pattern, as this recalibration what we should do once every 30 loads of normal, more or less.

Try to keep the battery at normal temperatures, even something fresh

So you do not spend what happens with laptops. When you go to save a battery and will be a long time without being used, it would be best to save it in the fridge (not that freezes, eh?) To 40% charge more or less.

Do not buy batteries for the future

Many people tend to buy a spare battery for use in a possible trip that will someday to be able to directly change the battery when the first is exhausted. But there is a small problem with that: how well the care, the lithium ion batteries currently have a limited life. The more time passes without the use, will close its "expiration date". Ã? Sto llevaros to be wary of batteries in stock in the stores, although it is a very good price. Look if their dates of manufacture before buying them. And, if so, and all the compráis, then follow the instructions on the previous pattern.
