New features in the development of the emulator multiconsole LJP

There are the fresh news about the state of development of LJP (Little John PalmOS), the emulator for PalmOS of multiple consoles of Nintendo and Sega, besides some others. For that they do not know it, it was already spoken of him here a long time ago. Since the end of December a new version of this program was expected, with many improvements. But the graphical interface of the program was very unstable, and some problems in the code were causing that was hung repeatedly.

Tinnus, the one in charge at the moment of the project, has been fighting with the problem since then, but a bad planning of this project has done that when growing and incorporating so many functionalities, is had returned too great and difficult to maintain. So it has announced the reescritura from zero of the code, implementing abstraction with respect to the operating system and device.

The good thing of this change, is that the program once rewritten will be much more stable and easy to extend and to maintain. It will even be possible to be carried to any platform, not only PalmOS. The bad thing is that, although it is not mentioned, a reescritura thus can take long time. In this case the great advantage is in which the code in himself of the emulators is taken directly of the different independent projects, reason why is only necessary to rewrite the part of the interface, handling of files, etc. But even so, I do not wait for a new version of LJP in time enough.

Hopefully it mistakes to me, and in the same way that the LJP has become all a work of art thanks to the great work of their developers, they are now able to take advanced quickly it, and soon we have one more a version more stable than the last one published. While we hoped, we counted on this last version, that although can hang our Palm some times, allows to play an immense amount of classic games, with a speed and quality outside all critic.
