Reduce the size of the executables with PRCPack

This program will be of great value to holders of a Palm veteran, and therefore with little storage capacity: PRCPack to reduce the size of the programs you have installed on our Palm. To do so eliminates, the images and icons that contain, which does not need our PDA.

Why then bring that? Programmers often include images they use in their programs at all different graphical formats, so that the programs will "look good" no matter whether Palm is high or low resolution or color depth, and it is decided what show as the computer that is running. PRCPack allows us to eliminate the versions that are not necessary in our device, thereby saving on space. In addition, you can compress the images that are not already in a foramto know that PalmOS handle smoothly. The downside is that such programs can not be run on other machines different from ours, for example, if we send it via infrared to a friend.

We chose to compress and the program does the rest PRCPack

I tested the software on my Tungsten E2 and works. "However, some programs may become unstable after pressing them. That is why I have the original executable by hand, to reinstall them as we see that there are problems. For example, Plucker was hung in loading documents, because it lacked a little icon that shows in front of everyone on the list.

The gains were moderate space, with ever increasing even if a bit file size. This is simply because the images that occupy most are precisely the high-resolution and 16-bit color. By eliminating the versions in black and white or low-resolution, we save little space. But PDAs oldest is geared toward running this program is just the opposite: the images are removed large, high color depth, thus saving space is remarkable. In short, a very good way to make room in a former Palm, which is where the note was little more storage space.
