To read documents CHM in Plucker

CHM is the propietary document format in which the aid is kept from Windows. In fact these abbreviations come from Microsoft Compressed HTML Help. With time, this format has also been used to distribute to manifolds technical documents. If sometimes you must read a file in this format, and are not in a machine that runs Windows, you will have been yourselves incapable abrir the happy document. At the time I also had to look for a way to read them in Linux, and in the end I found several like GnoCHM, KchmViewer and Xchm. But, how we can read them in our Palm. In blog TamsPalm they explain to us how to extract of these files documents HTML, soon to turn them to Plucker format since we would do with any other:

  • The key is in knowing how to extract the content of file CHM. Is so simple as abrir window of “Symbol of system” (the good old MSDOS so that we are understood), to go to the directory where it is file CHM (for the C:\Mischm example) and to execute the following order:

    C:\Mischm\ > hh - decompile c:\directorio _destino fihero.chm

  • This will decompress in the directorio_destino directory in content of the file fichero.chm. Now or only we must turn with PDAConverter, Plucker or Sunrise these documents to Plucker format. For it we will have to find the page main of the CHM (more likely index.html will be called) and to use it like document to turn.

That simple. A new document format nonsupported directly by the Palm, that already we can read in Plucker. The following one?
