The PDA of tungsten

Protocol VNC (of Virtual Computing Network), based on a structure client-servant, allows us to remotely take the control from a computer servant through a computer client. Also software remote is called to him sometimes, like which the last versions of Windows bring integrated, although exists for enough more time. The grace is in which, to being VNC a abierto protocol, anyone can make a client compatible. And in fact, the boys of PalmVNC have made a version that runs on PalmOS. What means this? That we can use our computer from the Palm, as if we were in front of him. Those that has a computer in servant house working, without keyboard nor screen, will find it very useful: it is possible to be acceded to him from the Palm without needing nothing else. Also we can use it to control what it is making our computer, if we are in another room. The possibilities are infinite.

We can simulate a right click of mouse without problems

PalmVNC is in its version 2.0 and works frankly well. I have proven it with the connection bluetooth 1,2 of my Tungsten E2, that is quite slow, and even so is very comfortable. The installation is that simple:

• We go to the page of unloadings of the Web of PalmVNC and unloaded the package that already includes the PalmVNC (client) and the UltraVNC (servant). Also the one can be lowered that brings the WinVNC client. I have not proven it but I suppose that it will work equal of good.
• We execute the file and the PalmVNC in the Palm and the UltraVNC in the computer will settle. We make hotsync to really install the PalmVNC.
• Now we must take the servant. In the menu beginning icons of the UltraVNC will have been created us: to install service causes that the program begins by defect whenever we take Windows, to desinstalar service deactivates this option we had if it activated, and app mode takes the program normally. In order to try, we chose app mode and will appear a new icon in the bar of notification of Windows, next to the clock.
• We click in the icon double and the options of the servant will be abrirán. We assigned a password to him (so that more people with a client VNC cannot enter), and activated the option allow loopback connections. We left it to the rest to our pleasure. We already have the PC preparation to receive connections.
• Now it is necessary to form the PalmVNC in the Palm. After installing we initiated it, and when giving to connect it will request the data to us of our servant. We introduce the IP or direction of our equipment, and the password that we have assigned previously. And it is already all preparation. We activate the connection to Internet of the equipment and we connected ourselves.
• If everything goes well, we will see our writing-desk of the PC. In principle only one part (320×320 pixels for example in my E2), and will appear bars of scrolling to the sides, to move the visible zone. In order to see more surface simultaneously, or the complete writing-desk, we have several levels of zoom lens, (1: 1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 and complete writing-desk), that can be selected from the menu. Now when we make APT with stylus in the screen, the mouse moves to that point in the PC. Also we will be able to write in the graffitti and will be we did as if it with the telcado one of the PC, and from the menu we can choose that it sends to the pressing of a key Windows, Alt, Ctrl, function, and of more than from the graffitti we cannot command.

Seeing all the writing-desk simultaneously

With these simple steps, already we have the writing-desk of our PC available in the Palm. The best thing of everything is than in cuanquier site in which we have access to Internet from the Palm, or from a Treo, a T|X in hostpot wifi, or our network wifi of house, etc, we will be able to accede without problems to the PC of graphical way, as if we were there.
