Mad Digitizer syndrome

Are you missing your Palm accuracy over time? Some users may have a problem with the accuracy of the touch screen: as time passes, when you tap with a stylus on the screen is more difficult to choose an option from a menu, as sometimes selects the next higher or lower. Character input also becomes more difficult, having to "trace over" for recognition of the strokes. And sometimes the Palm confuses them a stroke with a point, and so on.

Researching more, I discovered that this problem is associated with older models of Palm. There's even a definition in the Wikipedia:

"Mad Digitizer syndrome" is a bug or condition on older Palm Pilot models such as the Clie, Zire, Handspring or that results in drift of power off after Digitizer accuracy of palm unit. This can be fixed with the purchase of one of the many "Digi" applications available. Newer models, such as the Zire71, do not have this issue as they have "Digi" built in applications.

As you can see, the problem gets worse every time you turn off the Palm. But there is a solution, and that is that there are programs that help us correct the problem. The program Recal simply allows us to recalibrate the screen every time you make a hotsync, or a soft reset. On the other hand, DigiFix makes a copy of our calibration, and recovered every time we do a soft reset, so our screen returns to work as well as when the copy was made. And if none of these solutions we are working, we can prove Digi.

I do not know if this problem is common or if it happens with a few palm. I have never had problems with my E2, but it seems older machines that it may suffer. So if your Palm has no problems with accuracy, nor is he happens to play with these programs, but if you have the problem of mad Digitizer syndrome, I hope that these recommendations will help avoid it.
