Creating an internal drive in the Tungsten E2
We already know how to make our Palm is like a "pen" USB storage, which can be plugged into any computer and assembled automatically as if it were an external drive. But there are other operations that only some models of Palm (the T5, the TX and the LifeDrive) can do. I refer to files stored in RAM as if it were an external card.
The aforementioned Palm with a unit of internal storage, which can save files without problems. This is very useful, for example, to take files always available, even if we change the memory card. Or, to copy files (eg photos) from a memory card and using this as an internal memory buffer.

The internal drive is really a part of the RAM
Well, it is possible to do this to other models like the Tungsten E2. Our good friend Dimitry has written a free program called E2InternalDrive, which creates an internal unity in our E2. I have tried it and it works perfectly. In the Filez I noticed as well as the Internal unit (RAM) and corresponding to the SD card, a third unit called BUILTIN in which you can copy files directly without problems.
However, the drive appears as the second available, with the SD as the third. This makes applications that use files stored on the SD did not find them. If we have problems with this you can remove the program simply doing a warm reset (hold down the button above, do a reset) and then deleting the file E2InternalDrive, which is what we had installed.
Now you would be able to install only "mode device," a program that brings the Palm with internal drive, which allows you to access it as if it were a USB drive. Antu shares in the comments on this post, a link to download this program, extracted from a T5. But I've tested in the E2 and does not work well (the screen remains blank).
In short, a way to have an internal storage unit very useful in our Tungsten E2, and maybe some more model.

... It would be interesting (in my opninion) super util a utility that emulates (no, not the mule;)) a part of the SD memory card as Builtin, and so have much more space .... But good for now is interesting that, it hurts the DriveMode, yet there is no solution?
In the E2 does not work, which have proven to have on your Palm experience.
still not probe this program before DQ wanted to make a query: I have my t is q | e2 new, even without sd, and wanted to know if this program can upload mp3's in that memory emulated, and whether it may move separate files any extension (with getdeblu or Resco explorer as some said) from the cell for example? what used primarily for moving ringtones and videos of the cel to the palm, but not sd q seems this can not be ... someone has any idea?
greetings!
Yes you could use that as an internal drive say. Another thing is that the E2 has about 24Mb free for users, of which the party use to install programs, bringing the size of this internal drive is fairly small, compared with a 1Gb SD card that you could buy.
I'm slow ... that could be used as an E2 my memory compatible with any USB port (with their respective connection) and also move files to my palm and out of it to a pc?
... greetings and perhaps more questions
Thank you
The unit functions as an internal memory card. In both cases, if you want your PC see Palm as a USB mass storage device, you have to use the Card Export or other similar program, as we saw in this post.
