How “autorun” of a card SD can recover our data
Pongámonos in situation: our Palm has suffered an unfortunate accident and its screen is broken or simply it does not respond stylus. Before sending it to repair, we want to recover the data that contain, for example being realised last hotsync. In the majority of the Palm, there is a button in the cable or base that allows to initiate hotsync, so there is no problem. But some models as the Tungsten and connects to the PC by means of a standard cable miniusb, like the one of some cameras of digital photos. So the unique way to initiate hotsync is from the program in the PDA, but our screen does not work what we do then?

We would not have to worry because we always have a backup updated of the content of our Palm… But in “hypothetical” the case that it was not thus, we can use Seance. This program takes advantage a functionality of the little well-known Palm: S.A. to insert a memory card, finds a program with certain name (“start.prc”) in certain directory (” /Palm ") it will automatically execute, it in the style of autorun of the CDs and DVDs.
So we unloaded this program, we called start.prc we copied and it in the /Palm folder of card SD. We insert when it in the Palm, the program will emit pitido, and will begin an operation of hotsync, and so we will be able to recover our precious data. It comes in two versions: the file “Seance-l.prc” will initiate hotsync local, and the file “Seance-r.prc”, hotsync by network. There is a possible problem: if the PDA is blocked, the program will not be executed until it is unblocked. Perhaps so if we have the automatic option of blockade, this program is not used us for anything.
So we already have a solution for when we are in this situation in particular. And on the other hand, this curiosity to execute a program automatically when inserting card SD can come very well for certain things.

It is happened to me for example, if we used a memory, exclusively, for a software of maps, that usually occupy much, podriamos to execute it directly. Or another utility would be to include a viewfinder of photos in the card of our camera of photos to see them with the PDA.

Hello Jose, verifies that the START.PRC is in card SD, in the folder “/PALM”. And that you have copied seanc-l.prc, and not seanc-r.prc.
