Conversational adventures, classic games for our Palm (i)
When a few months ago we spoke here of the graphical adventures in way text, such as as Rogue, Moria, Ularn, NetHack, Angband, Omega, and their versions for PalmOS, to most veteran would bring good memories to them, and to which they had never proven them, they will have hooked to them since they continue being as addictive as when they were created.
Then taking advantage of this machine the time that is Internet, today we will approach a little more the present, to arrive at the conversational adventures, or interactive fiction (it interactivates fiction), that also marked time. The most known they were those of the Zork saga at the time: Zork I, Zork II, Zork III, Beyond Zork, Zork Zero, created by Infocom. Also they were masterpieces the Magnetic Scrolls, with titles like The Pawn, The Guild of Thieves and Jinkster.

Zork was all a revolution at its time
These games are simultaneously books, or rather something intermediate enters both. We take the roll from the main personage of history, the game says to us what happens around this personage, and we respond to him how he must act. The exit of the game is in way text almost always, although in some there are including images and even sounds. We also communicated with the game by means of text, and in some case with the help of the mouse. In many problems will appear to us to solve, commonly called puzzles, and whose way to solve will influence them in the rest of history.
Although the shown examples next, are for games in English, also exist multitude of titles in our language, as it is possible to be seen at the end of post.
When we initiated the game, we will firstly see an introduction that explains to us who we are, where we are, and perhaps as they are our objectives. When the introduction finishes, he appears to us prompt, that it is simply a line that begins with the symbol “>”, and in that we can write. To write what? Then orders as if we were commanding to a person: if we are in a kitchen, and they say to us that there is a closed cake boat, we can order TAKE THE UNIT OF CAPACITANCE to take it, or OPEN THE UNIT OF CAPACITANCE abrir it, or perhaps IT EXAMINES THE UNIT OF CAPACITANCE to obtain more data on the same. The articles can be omitted, to have to write less: for example TAKE UNIT OF CAPACITANCE will do the same.
Besides interacting with the surroundings, we will have to move. For it we indicated the direction, with the cardinal points: NORTH, SOUTH, NORTHWEST, SOUTHEAST, etc. The initials also are worth: S, N, NE, etc. Other actions, employees of the situation, will serve also us to campiar our position: ENTER CAR, SIT ON MOTORCYCLE, CLIMB ONTO SHIP, JUMP ONTO PLATFORM, DIVE INTO LAKE, etc. In each game they will be different, but the general rule is expresasre more simply possible. If the game does not let to us do something in particular, perhaps we must think another way to follow. Commonly usable verbs are: LOOK, TAKE, DROP, EXAMINES, SEARCH, INVENTORY, OPEN, CLOSE, LOCK, UNLOCK, ASK, TELL, SAY, GIVE, SHOW, WAIT…

We go towards the north, to see what we were
To speak with people requires simple phrases. For example TELL BOB ABOUT HOW I SAW SHEILA GIVE TO STRANGE AMULET TO ANOTHER WOMAN surely not of the waited for result, but TELL BOB ABOUT AMULET on the contrary yes. In order to cause that somebody does something, we will write its name, one comma, and the action. For example BOB, BREAK THE UNIT OF CAPACITANCE, and Bob will break the jar.
Finally, there is a series of verbs that all the games recognize, and that do not do anything in history, but other functions: UNDO, QUIT, RESTART, KNOWS and RESTORE (to save and to load the game), etc. In the game to the salary puzzles, we could remain suspended. If we became bored of not finding the solution, we can write HELP to see the possible tracks. And finally, you do a map while you play. You are going it to need.

Some readers compile a map by us
And not to do post excessively long, in the following one we will see the programs that exist for, counting on the archives of the original version of these games, power to execute them in our Palm.
Published: thanks to Mapache and Incanus, great connoisseurs of the subject, I add next where to find material in Spanish. Everything what I found at the time was in English, and bothered to have to speak to me only of games in this language, but thanks to them I know the existing community in our language around this subject:
What more pleasant surprise! One of my great passions in pda of tungsten. Only a small pull of ears to the author… The conversational adventures also exist in Castilian! In fact it is a sort of minority but active entertainment. The neuralgic center of the IF in Castilian is in caad and its forum:
http://www.caad.es
http://www.caad.es/foroIn order to know more on prepared conversational adventures in Castilian for palm, the best thing is to visit the page Web http://erasmusreloaded.com/galaxiaimaginaria/aventuras.htm
And finally, comentaros that bimonthlily publish SPAC, fancine dedicated to the conversational adventures in: http://usuarios.lycos.es/SPAC/
Whose numbers also are unballastable in format .DOC for palm.
Intention to all the fans of handspans to that a return by this world, mixture of Literature and entertainment occur.
To only complement what has been said by Raccoon: the majority of the production (that everything) of modern Conversational Adventures in Spanish (done of the 2000 for ahead) has not taken control of InformATE, an adaptation to the Spanish of Inform, parser (responsibility system) at the moment more used at world-wide level to make Adventures Conversational. In order to know more:
Page of InformATE: http://www.caad.es/informate
InformATE games: It has more than 70 games to unload in http://www.caad.es/informate/juegos/juegos.html. These games can be played in almost any PDA (they do not have graphs)
You interpret for PDA: in order to play the games unloaded in a PDA, to go to http://www.caad.es/informate/interpretes/index.html in the Handheld section it has you interpret for models of Palm OS with and without support of SD-Card.

Sincerely, although already it knew CAAD and the adventures in way TXT (I believe that first that I read of them - CAAD- was in PCmania does bufffffffff, nor macuerdo, although is possible that in Microhobby Magazine
something was published, nonmemory with exactitude).
I remain with the type “Nethack”, that already you commented in the other post.
This type of software that is possible that 3D prevails the IMAGINATION on DIAGRAMS, megapotencia, etc…. and we obtain equally funny games.
