The Palm and the world of astronomy (and II)
We continue in this analysis of the Palm like useful tools for the fan to astronomy. After to have seen the programs that show stellar letters, as well as all type of information on the shown objects, today we will speak of other interesting programs that fulfill a different function.
- We begin with pSatellite, that allows us to visualize the position and orbit of a satellite in a terraqueous map (with mercator projection). It uses standard TLE (two-line elements) and is valid as much for satellites of low orbit (I READ) like geosetacionarios (GEO).

Siguiéndo the sign of a satellite
- PocketSat is another tool of pursuit of satellites very complete, useful for people as much experienced, as for accidental observers who simply want to know where is a satellite to be able to observe it. Besides mostrazar orbits and positions, it allows to calculate, giving our Earth position, the moment at which some satellite will happen sufficiently close like being observed.

It shows to us in what zones are visible
- SideralTime is a clock/calculator that, given to our length and hour zone, calculates the sidereal time, as much the present one as the one of any moment that we specify.
- Planets Age & Weight are a peculiar gratuitous program. We introduce our age and weight, and it will say to us as they would be if we lived in anyone on eight other planets of the Solar System (since the duration of the year, and the gravity in the surface, is different).
- CelestNav is one complete tool of calculation for astronavigation. With the help of a sextant, it provides our Earth position to us. Aherramienta very useful for navigators.

For the fans to navigation
- Moon Phase is a gratuitous utility that will graphically show the phase to us of the moon in the date that we indicate to him.
- In the Page of Bray we will find some gratuitous tools useful. One of them allows to calculate the illuminated zone of the Earth. The other programs, although not related to astronomy, are also interesting, like which it calculates the declination, inclination and magnitude of the Earth's magnetic field in any Earth point.
- Planet 2000 allows to calculate all the referring one to positions of planets, solar eclipses (1900-2100) and spots (1999-2030), conjunctions and oppositions, phases of the Moon, and enough things more. The description of the program with all the functionalities is impressive.

In order to know it everything on the eclipses
- TeleFormula is a gratuitous calculator for all the referring one to our telescope: magnification, speed, to f-number, angle of view, limit of Dawes, effective focal length, etc.
- Star Compass & GPS allow us to use the Palm like a compass. He is enough to locate an object, to point towards him the Palm, and to indicate to him to the program what object is. Then this one will draw a compass in the screen oriented correctly. But it includes many other functions, like calculating distances between two points, calculating solstices and equinocios, astronomical almanac, data base of coordinates GPS, calculation of the length of the shades, etc.
- RiseSet is another gratuitous program. It calculates the moments of exit, transit and concealment of the Sun and the Moon, dice our place of observation. Also it informs into the azimuth and elevation to us of both, the illuminated percentage of the Moon, and some data more.
- PhotoTimer is a timer, that will help us with our photos of high exhibition, or in the developing.
- 2red is a small utility that simply changes the colors of the graphical interface of the Palm, to red and black, so that we pruned to at night use it during our observations, without losing visual sharpness by the glare.
- Finally, MarsClock is a small gratuitous, designed and used utility at the time by the own NASA. It provides the local time to us, for any Mars point. This allows to know when they are illuminated, and therefore in operation, rover of the missions of exploration in this planet.
So we already have a few interesting programs to take in our Palm, that our observations will help us duarante. Any other program that you use habitually will be welcome in the commentaries, and I again recommend the article of CanalPDA on astronomy, and the forums of PalmAstro.

he would want to know if PALM counts on some model that allows the following thing:
1. To introduce a simple software to realise a survey.
2. To show the position to me where the survey is realised.
3. To allow to send immediately the data collected in the PALM to a datacenter.
4. To interchange data from any point from a country to another one.
I will thank for much to them to orient to me on the matter.
Thanks!
