Annual activity planner simple and practical
Everyone who takes some time using your Palm, have already discovered the tremendous value of the Calendar application. With its simplicity to add new appointments, and summaries of the day, week and month, it becomes an easy to use and very helpful. However, its design is intended for tasks rather close. Surely at other times we need to see things more in perspective, for example all year at a time, allocate days for some particular task.
This is where the scene Holiday Planner, a free annual planner very useful, as its name suggests, began with the goal of allowing us to share the holidays we have available throughout the year. However, it has been growing, and is useful to distribute any other task that we do throughout the year.

Dividing the tasks throughout the year
The view you get when you start is the current year, with 365 squares in 12 rows, representing the months. Initially all boxes are empty, and we'll mark those that want to stay for the activity concerned, by tapping on them. The program lets you set tasks to be assigned a different color, and the bottom will show a counter of the boxes that we set, or we are available to check if we have defined a maximum number of days available to that activity in the year. Let's look a little more detail their use:
- To mark a day, activate the edit mode by pressing the button with the pin located at the bottom left, and we tap done in the days we want to mark. A brand tap all day, two in the morning only, and three in the afternoon. With a fourth tap the day we leave blank again. To change this year, will press the buttons above or below the Palm.
- By default it shows the number of days marked in the current year and category, the total number of days available per category is configurable in the preferences (between 1 and 365.5). Tap on the number of days alternate between numbers marked and available.
- Tap into lyrics for a month (to the left of the screen), we see a zoom of that month. This view zoom works like the principal. To return to it, simply click on the year number in the upper right corner of the screen.

Detailed Month View
- The combo box control that corner of the categories. In each category we set the total days available for this year, the month that starts the year in full view, add notes or not to allow up to 160 characters each day of the year, allowing or not also mark the end days week, choose a category to be displayed superimposed on the actual (useful to see where they overlap), and of course choose the color that filled the boxes in the view of the category.
- In the Preferences Penu can also set two other options: check the boxes to drag the stylus across the view (by default you can only make one at a time) and make the program we confirm the deletion of a box, if it means losing a text note.
As we see, a simple program with a very specific use. It is useful to divide our tasks throughout the year, avoiding fall on the same day, or that we leave everything to the last month. Only comment is that the paid version includes integration with Address Book from Palm, but this functionality was causing problems in the new Palm with NVFS so in this latest version was eliminated.
