Run programs and MS-DOS games on Palm
Veteran MS-DOS, OS that younger readers may not know, has been ported in part several times to our Palm. He tried using the emulator of Atari ST for Palm Castaway, and he also made an implementation of the shell of MS-DOS called VFSDOS, not an emulator, because it can not directly run programs built for MS-DOS.

VFSDOS is an MS-DOS shell for PalmOS
But this time he is making a fully functional port, specifically using the emulator DOSBox, so useful for running games and older programs from MS-DOS on modern computers. The author already announced its work in August, and apparently things have progressed since we can see in screenshots TamsPalm emulator running on a Tungsten C. Although the code is still full of errors, is seen as a breakthrough programs such as QBasic, dosshell or 5.5 Word start correctly. What memories, right? I enrollaré with war stories of how I started in the computer world with my dear clone 286 to 16MHz and 512Kb of RAM.

The conclusions reached on the project after analyzing it, yet still so early, are good:
- The CPU emulation works without too many problems (but relatively slow).
- Supports text mode 80 × 25 and 80 × 43 characters (in color).
- Access to the VFS (ie, expansion cards).
- The mouse is controlled by touch screen (although it is still uncalibrated).
- The Graffiti2 of the Tungsten C was not recognized (could not write text).
As discussed, all necessary programs come in a PRC file only 400Kb. Some program options are configured from menus, while others are in the archive dosbox.conf in the expansion card, as in the PC version from which it derives.

There's no version for download publicly, mostly because it is still very unstable and needs much improvement, but is a project that will be closely monitored: programming in QBasic, play old DOS games ... sounds very interesting for lovers For many, first command line we met.

That is excellent news and comes just as he was seeking a way to take with me the programming environment for Modula-2: I've found so far only emulators that run on PocketPC and the truth, damn the desire I have to reuse one of these pots.
Yes, there are many MS-DOS programs that would be very useful in a PDA. I'm also eager to leave a public version of this emulator.
And be implemented format c:??? I remember the time my brother did that in the first PC we had in the house ... a 386SX, and still did not have much idea of the computer ... my father was very happy ...
The emulator that is creating works for programs written in GWBasic?
If you run a shell GWBasic In MS-DOS emulator, it can run programs that work with him. I guess, I never used GWBasic.
