Counters and timers for all kinds of purposes
We know that our Palm could be an excellent multialarma clock timer, but there are other smaller applications related to the counters and timers that can help us very useful on occasion:
- For example, Hours is a very full agenda for the account of time spent at each task throughout the day, very useful for later bills to our customers, or simply to see how we distribute our time along the week and correct what we did not like it. It makes graphic with the saved data, supports categories, estimated costs from the value of each type of hours of work, and even allows subtract breaks. In addition, comes with a small utility that converts the data to CSV format, importable in Excel, OpenOffice or StarOffice.

With hours will keep a record of our work

Generate invoices to our data and graphs
- To take account of something, Counter meter is the simplest we can find. Clicking anywhere on the screen of our Palm, the counter is increased by 1. The screen is colored in black press, for we realize that if the number has progressed well. These counters are very useful for example to tell passengers when they're climbing on a bus.
- PamuCounter meter is a bit more advanced, which allows up to 16 separate accounts. With large numbers and buttons, looks good, even in a clock WristPDA.
- Another option is to use this Desktop Accesory (DA), called CounterDA that will allow us to carry up to seven accounts in parallel without leaving the program that we are running. Remember that the DA needs a manager for DAS used, for example DALauncher.

- To count cycles in a digital signal (ie, use the Palm as frequency), also have a program, FrequencyP, which measures the frequency of the signal introduced through a pair of pins, the CTX (clock signal) and TX, the serial port of our PDA, and allows measurement of signals between 1 and 3kHz, although the latest Palm can get to measure signals up to 25KHz. Before connecting anything to the serial port, you better monitor voltages if we do not want to fry our Palm. The best thing is to read the documentation of the program in detail.

Measuring the frequency of a signal by the serial port
- If we need to measure time, Stopwatch Timer is a very simple, with few buttons and large numbers either, to be able to operate with a finger. You have the option of copying to clipboard time, so why use it directly in another program.
- Although if we need to do a lot of simultaneous actions, then Timing will be our best ally. We can define up to 65,000 independent timers, which count the time elapsed since it was launched, or on the contrary can be configured to a certain value and count backwards, for advising us with one of seven different sounds that can be assigned on arrival at zero . We can define the chronometers categories for grouping, and act on them at once. And of course, the program continues when the computer is off.

Separate and simultaneous multiple timers
- Another program to keep several simultaneous temporizaciones is TikTok, simpler than Timer, but still very powerful.
- Something does have to count on a regular basis, if we have trouble sleeping, are sheep, and Counter Sheep promises to make this task more effectively, saving a lot of money on expensive special pillows or mattresses.

We no longer have to count sheep memory
- If what is nesitamos relax and meditate about who we are, where we come from and where we go, then PocketDoan will help us to not lose track of time. We can define up to three periods of meditation within each session, and create thousands of customized sessions. At the end of each period, the Palm can alert us to the LED, a vibration, a WAV or MIDI sound, an alarm. And their way of showing elapsed time in each period, a graphic piece of cake, we'll never have to decentralized watching a clock. All of a timer for professional practitioners of meditation.
- For fans of chess, in addition to reminding the post on programs for playing chess in the Palm, I recommend this counter called Chess Timer, with a large button or "end game" for not having that deconcentrated watching the screen Palm or searching the stylus.

A convenient meter for chess games
- There are counters for all, and the photographers were not going to be less. Timer picture is a meter that beeps at regular intervals, very useful for making long exhibition of photographs, such as those of the stars at night. You can also control the whole process, if the camera is adequate, through the serial port of the PDA. It has big buttons to handle it with your finger, keep a log of when each share held, and many other interesting features that can perfectly understand by reading the manual and Turkey step by step for beginners accessible on its website.
- Finally, the golfers will be glad of the existence of Golf Counter, a program to keep the account of our ratings. The classics aparatitos for this task, with only a button "+" and "-" were very expensive for what little they did, so the author of this program decided that the PDA could do it and save money.

A comprehensive program to save our score
So it's over the use of fingers to count. From now on, whatever it is we want to control our Palm will be the perfect tool.
