Running custom actions after certain events
There are small utilities that allow us to implement actions after certain events, such as making a hotsync or turn on the Palm. In his day and talk about Calendar Reminder, which automatically leads to the main page of the calendar to turn on the Palm, if you have been turned off over a certain time customizable, mimicking the operation of the screen "Today" Windows Mobile. But there are more possibilities:
- LOR (Launcher On Reset) is a small program that once installed does not show icon or options. Just run the pitcher each time it makes a soft reset on the Palm, to avoid having to do it by hand as the default program that is the burden of Preferences. On the instructions of the program warn us that to uninstall it, we run it (the show instalnte a blank screen and then revert to the pitcher), then delete it (eg using Filez) and finally make a soft reset.
- Also interesting is a utility Event Launcher, which allows us to automatically execute application after a soft reset, to make a hotsync, inserting an SD card into the slot, or turn on the Palm. An important note: obviously is not stable in the Treo or TX, and is incompatible with LOR, so there is an uninstall it before installing another. In my Tungsten E2 has operated without problems, however.
- However, to achieve the opposite effect, ie when insert an SD card will not run anything, we can use Launch This. We can also turn off the option to run a program when you insert the SD card, which nevertheless can be very helpful as we covered.
- If we want is that a hotsync as soon connect the Palm to your computer via USB or via a pedestal, SyncLaunch achieves precisely that. Very useful for the Palm with USB cable that does not have integrated hotsync button, as it avoids having to open the application of hotsync every time.
- For those who have problems with a screen that is descalibra, the small utility ReCal performs a calibration when we say: after each reset, tars a hotsync, when you close a program, and so on. If, owing to a screen descalibrada a day or you can not enter the calibration program, installing this program and doing a reset ensure that the program start automatically when you start and you can retrieve the Palm. Another program that does the same as it is ReDigi.
These are some of the utilities that do not simplify a little each day using our Palm. But surely there are many more. As always you have comments open to share your small discoveries.

Excellent post ... LOR will be compatible with the TX?
I have tested with the E2 and seem to work without problems, but warn that both LOR as EventLauncher could be unstable. Have a full backup at hand.
SyncBack launches the application you want after doing a hotsync, but is not capable of launching "aplicciones"
Yet it is useful if you do not want to see "Hotsync has cloncluido" and wanted to be open otherwise, in my case, binary clock, jejejeje
: d
Completion my previous comment: SyncBack suspected of causing the resets on my LifeDrive, and I just check and corroborate, and you use with caution and at your own risk ... but on the other hand, my LifeDrive goes beyond the average because there are programs that are refuse to run on it yet at other LifeDrive run, so you know if they decide to take risks
Chole and say that with my comments, but this time I will say that it works, and very well on my LifeDrive the Event Launcher
Try the other two of them and comment
Hum ... Launcher on the Reset I think what I try ... no longer with the Event Launcher managed as with the LOR ...
Well ... confirms that the Launch This! does not work on my LifeDrive ... never ceases to open the Launcher when the meth SD: S
Anyway ... this is my last comment in this post
Greetings!
Lithium thousand thanks for the testing of applications
I know I can do some unstable and the most modern Palm fussy, but in my E2 had no problems. And I warn you always do a backup before you try to get applications with the operating system or are resident in memory.
Event Launcher works to perfection in my eye TX ... and that LOR is the older version of Event Launcher, why are incompatible
