Virtual machine Java available for your Palm

Following with the subject of the programs that came in the CD that accompanied our Palm, and that we pruned to want to recover by different causes, it touches the turn to him to IBM Micro WebSphere Environment, the virtual machine Java for devices with PalmOS. Until recently, it was necessary to register itself in his Web to obtain it, and it was not very clear what equipment had right to obtain it free of charge. Reading TamsPalm I find out to me that it is at the disposal of everybody. That everyone sees if must right to lower it. This virtual machine Java is necessary to execute programs like Opera Mini, or any other program done in Java for PalmOS.

The list of supported equipment is the following one:

Treo 600 and 650, T|X, Tungsten C, Tungsten T3, Tungsten and,
Tungsten E2, Tungsten T5, 72 Zire and LifeDrive.

The installation is reduced to transfer two archives using hotsync of the habitual way:

  • J9JavaVMMidp20.prc that is the main file.
  • And JavaVMCheck_esES.prc, the file of location to the Spanish.

In the connected page it is explained with more detail how to install these two archives, as much from Windows as from Macintosh. We already have a little easier to make work the programs written in Java in our Palm.
