What was driving the car just Fantastic?

Who does not remember the television series The car fantastic! The Order also known as Fantastic or The Incredible Auto, curiously titles that have nothing to do with the original title of the U.S.: "Knight Rider."

Knight Rider is a series of U.S. television of the 80s. In it, the protagonist was the actor David Hasselhoff playing Michael Knight, a defender of the poor and disadvantaged who drives a smart car KITT. The series was produced by Glen A. Larson, creator of Battlestar Galactica among other series, and it was all a myth for adolescents of the time.

I still remember those afternoons watching a chapter of this series, as one of the legendary battle of KITT (the car fantastic) against Karr, a twin but his completely evil. It was not until much later, with the advent of the Internet and then the P2P, I could investigate a little about this series and see for example the first chapter of the series, also called a pilot chapter, which lasts twice as normal and usually a chapter used as evidence by the television network to study the response of the public and the viability of the series.

In the pilot episode, Michael Long is a police infiltrator who is investigating a case of industrial espionage. During their investigation is betrayed and gets a shot in the head which it destroys the whole face. Wilton Knight, creator of the Knight Foundation, which is behind the FLO (Foundation for Law and Order), he performed an operation to recover plastic surgery to his face and assign a new identity. Michael Long is given for dead and is now known as Michael Knight. Michael's mission is to defend the defenseless, help the poor and helpless with his car KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand). After the death of Wilton Knight, the best friend of his and his boss, Devon Miles, takes the reins of the foundation.

But enough of nostalgia. The reason for this post is also leaving for a while the issue of the Palm, which will show something many fans of the series have been asked: How did that lead KITT alone? The answer is in this scene from the pilot chapter, I found commented in Diariomotor:

Obviously in the series The Fantastic Car KITT was driving alone when he was not in Auto mode Cruise. The trick, if you fijáis in the video, is that he was a driver without further camouflaged. When they saw KITT approaching the driver's seat does not have the hole in the headrest and when to ... look carefully and you will see that when Michael is going to open the door is the hidden arm of the driver.

Now that we know that the original Nor was driving alone, maybe we can build with building an exact replica of KITT from a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am or Pontiac Firebird 1992. As we can see the result is spectacular.
