How to run Java applications on the Palm
David Chaves, from Costa Rica, where he sends us this partnership expands the explanation of how to install the Java virtual machine on the Palm, to execute on our Palm Java applications that are available on the Internet. Thank you, David!
I want to make a series of steps and files to the proper use of Java applications on the Palm, such as games for mobile. To perform this procedure must download the following files:
- IBM Virtual Machine: WEME571.zip.
- Simulation Toolkit: Java_Tech_for_Garnet_WEME57.zip. (Download original)
- JAD Maker: JAD_Maker.zip (website).

Java Virtual Machine for Palm is developed by IBM
Should install the following files on the Palm:
- From the first download will be joining in the "WEME571/JVM/ARM4T" and install the files: "J9JavaVMMidp20.prc", "J9JavaVMMidp20_es.prc" and "JavaVMCheck_esES.prc."
- In the second download will be joining in the "Java_Tech_for_Garnet_WEME57/JVM/Simulator" and install the following files: "ams.prc", "j9keystore.prc", "J9Launcher.prc", "j9pref.prc", "j9secpol . prc "," PalmMidp20_22.prc "and" pref.prc. "
- After having installed the previous files, proceed to insert the Java applications (games and other programs), taking file extension. Jar (in case you do not have a similar extension. Jad) and we put on the application open JAD Maker (the third download), to run the file. Jad is necessary.
- Enter the directory of the second download: "Java_Tech_for_Garnet_WEME57/Tools/bin /" and execute the application "jartoprc_w", which is why we selected files are located. Jar and. Jad of the application to install, then we generate the file. Prc and installed it in our palm.
Note: All files must be installed on the internal memory of our Palm.

Jose, thanks for the news.
I had read about the Softick cache which came out, it seems that it is particularly effective in the LifeDrive, I suppose that when used regularly only 2 or 3 programs and they are cached.
Well, no, I have not tried to run games on the SNES E2 because it seemed to me to ask pears elm, you may be able to have enough memory to the processor UDMH but I do not think we could force enough to more than 266MHz E2 I was hanging directly. It's a question of a try.
The SNES does not work in the te2, as I have tried millions of times and gives you an error, and fatal warning regarding their use.
we will have to wait for a new version ... ..
Greetings
Juan
