The Palm as a tool of the hacker (II): file transfer
Continuing our collection for our Palm software that converts into a hacking tool, now let's see how we can make transfers of files. There are multiple ways to transfer files to and from our Palm, depending on the protocol that we use:
- For transfers via FTP, some of the customers that there are free for Palm are LFtp, VSFtp and vPalmFtp. As a server we can use our own PC, for example by installing the FileZilla Server.

Accessing an FTP server from the Palm
- On Windows machines usually use the SMB protocol to share files and directories. Sure, there are several clients for Palm SMB as Palm SMB Client, FilePoint and SMBMate, which now became WiFile, payment, but with support for FTP, SMB and WebDav.

With WiFile can access the resources shared by wire
- Another possibility is that we need to download content via the Web (HTTP protocol). To this end there LGet, which saves web pages directly in DOC format, and Downloader, which allows us to download files from the Web directly into the memory card. HttpTester for its part will not be used for downloading content, but rather to test command GET, HEAD, PUT and DELETE, it will be of great help to developers who are working with Web applications.
- Once you have the files in our Palm, to manage recommends Filez, which is excellent and free. You can read the in-depth analysis was done at the time of this program on this blog.
- Touching the unbelievable, we find onager, a graphical environment for the client of P2P networks Mldonkey (which connects to networks eDonkey, Bittorrent, Kazaa, Gnutella and Overnet, among others). Ideal for those with a computer without the keyboard and display 24 hours a day downloading and want to access it from the Palm.

Manage your downloads from eDonkey, BitTorrent, etc. from the Palm
- Finally, there are also customers of virtual private network (VPN), which connect securely to other networks (such as connecting from home to office) through an insecure network (Internet). MergicVPN uses the protocol PPTP (Point to Point Tunneling Protocol), while MovianVPN uses IPSec.

More difficult still: SSH connection from VPN on the Palm
The possibilities with a team as small as a Palm, but with access to the network as comprehensive as that of a PC, are endless. In the next post we will see more features of the Palm as a hacking tool.

Wow ... that incredible continuation to the previous post! Greetings.
At least my palm (the tungsten C) brings a built-in VPN access, which is the mergic, I never had the need to address, but this interesting your article.
For another thing in the listing of two other web browsers know that I miss mencional, the WEB is bad and brings this palm default) cuts out the left side and how to prosecute the pages is bad, and the universe (or even idea when you install xD), which like the blazer I have no option to even try.
MergicVPN + + PalmVNC RemotePlus (or MobileTS) = The admin in a paradise of palm.
As a free option, but abandoned, for access to resources is SmbMate SMB, which allows you to send messages to computers through the Windows messaging service (net send):

Anyway, in the latest version of Resco Explorer you have, in addition to the powerful file manager, ftp access and also smb (paying, of course).
Greetings and to continue the series
Well, between each program mentioned in the first sentence should leave the sign of addition, but it must have been leaked: P.
Published! Anyway we understand what you wanted to say, a thousand thanks for the contribution
if muuy interesting article, but unfortunately this way of communicating with our PC so remote is a channel that does not have the security of at least 128kbts, so it is easy to access the lake from a different place for any hacker ..
greetings
Enrique, you can use an SSH server to transfer files safely by SCP, for example with the program WinSCP.
ok, thank you, but if it's safe? I say an open channel is always vulnerable .. interare what, if I work, go to their knowledge, greetings
Yes, SSH is an encrypted tunnel from end to end, creating a secure channel over an insecure network ... something like a VPN.
Try to capture traffic and see who is not transmitted by plane.
