Hard reset on a Palm TX with the power button broken
With daily use, the power button on the Palm can get to stop working. This precludes, for example, do a hard reset, as it is necessary to press this button to start the process. There are programs that solve the problem, as called, in a display of originality, Hard Reset or Sleep, which lets you assign the function of the off button to another button to choose.

The power button is a very likely to fail with the use
But MrAnderson is proposing in his blog an interesting way to get the same result, which is the only possible in the event that our Palm, with the off button broken, enters an infinite loop of resets. As shown in this video, this method is to get out of that infinite Bulc resets, as in the case at hand (broken button) would be irrecoverable:
As we read in his blog, the steps to get start the hard reset when the Palm is starting, are:
- Hold down the four rapid application buttons (Home, Calendar, Contacts and Web).
- When the progress bar on the first screen reached 100%, remain so until you release the four buttons simultaneously.
- Release the buttons when the Palm and switch to the next screen with the gray logo that says "Palm Powered", press the four buttons rapid application.
- Wait a few seconds and release the four buttons simultaneously. If you did everything correctly it will show you a screen that says "Are you sure you want to delete all data?".
- Press the key up to complete the hard reset.
It is not clear the effectiveness of this method, since the instructions in the original article are not too clear either. A MrAnderson did not work, some readers of the blog TamsPalm yes. In principle, the trick was done with a T | X, but do not know if it will work with other teams. You who animéis to test, let the comments the results of your experiment, to see if we leave doubts.

It is an excellent contribution, apart from its effectiveness, though he repeatedly pressing the 4 buttons simultaneously ... I was somewhat complicated and as a suggestion, since a long time, I opted to use some of the applications that can quench my TX without using the power button (I have installed for this purpose OffStroke and CenterMenu) and turn it on (to return to the same prior application and not through any of the four buttons, which would force me out of this application and return to the prior) with CenterMenu. This way I get to keep intact the power button on the TX.
The links to both are:

Greetings,
Rbngp: Excellent programs of that comment, I think I'll try. Greetings.
Mark: Once again flattered by the fact that you have posted one of my posts on my blog. Greetings my friend.
MrAnderson: there is one more with similar function, but at the time I installed them, went well ... In the post basic PDAEXPERTOS Recommendations lists some of the others.
Greetings,
Mark Garay one reporting it to your blog! I had the slightest idea of the trick although it appears to not work on my TE2, yes I keep trying to have more luck.
Mmmm seems that every so often you have to shop around for the post of PDA experts, as is constantly changing ... Saludos.
I've tried it on my TX a few times and I have not gotten it to work. And I could just as well because turning on the power button works and I use Power Btn another button to allocate the functions of Power. ... Sorry!
It works perfectly, just one question:
I press the 4 buttons on my TX on the Palm logo
loose the 4 buttons and I push back on the Palm Powered screen
BUT
Instead of releasing the four buttons at the same time, first the loose outer buttons (home site) and finally, the internal (calendar and contacts), when released at the same time not worked.
I hope you find it useful
I am a brand new user of tungsten E2 someone can tell me if I connect a motorola v3 and, or v3 i to have broadband internet acseso EDGE: normal or GSM, using bluetooth (or some cable?)
browser and mail that could use with my E2 2007 preferably in Spanish it is more useful.
I recommend that programs such as calendar and
general reading and editing pdf documents myself. doc
I appreciate any info, I am a teacher but inexperienced in the E2.
the probe in a palmOne Treo 650 is restarted constantly and worked to perfection nunnca worth mentioning that the buttons are released while loading and entered the Palm powered screen that screen stayed there until I let go and ready to run so I hope to be useful for someone as it is functional in the palm treo 650 because it was very useful.
In a perfectly functioning T5
Someone has worked on a TX? Or I'll start to think that my TX is "rare" jejejejeje
PS. I have found my extremely well, but instead of releasing the four buttons at the same time, first the outer and near-the-same-time-but-not-so interiors.
Recently I made a video explaining how I did it
(please do not laugh at my ill-pronounced English hehe)

It looks good on video, but Dmitry's understandable that ... so I'm going to try as samples. Greetings.
The pushboton of poor quality last long. Q What I do is open the palm, and a small cable attach the ends of the power button and then do a reset, because the program does not help Dimitry
