Go online videos from YouTube on your Palm, without access to internet
At this point in the film and the whole world knows Youtube, Gogle Video, Metacafe, DailyMotion and other web pages where we can find millions of videos uploaded by all types of users. Among so many videos you can find video clips, films, lectures, TV series, and many more. Would not it be great to bring these videos on our Palm without having Internet connection to view them?

Watching our videos on the Palm (in this case Clie)
Of course, so let's see how to achieve it. This trick is simple but certainly provides hours of entertainment with our Palm for a long journey or at any other time. And of course, is not only true for teams with PalmOS. The same can be achieved in any other Smartphone, whether based on Symbian (such as a Nokia N95), or Windows Mobile-based (such as a HTC Touch Diamond).
- At the outset, we have to download the videos that we are interested in using such extension Video Downloader for Firefox, websites like KeepVid or YouTubeX, or programs like Youtube Downloader. The options are numerous as we see.

YoutubeX Downloader allows you to download a video given its URL
- Once we have the video, outreach. "Flv", we will turn it into a format that a normal player can understand. It is not something mandatory, such as Media Player Classic or VideoLAN can play FLV files directly, but it will be necessary to be able to see them in our Palm. We can choose a Website as Vixy.net, Online Video Converter, or use a program on your PC as Fleez FLV to AVI converter.

Vixy.net is an online video converter FLV
- Finally, with our videos in AVI or MPG and we'll just move our Palm, for hotsync or directly to the SD memory. And for playback, better option is to my mind TCPMP, free media player, and compatible with a good performance.

The Core Pocket Media Player (TCPMP)
Finally, remember that these methods can be used not only Youtube, but can convert videos GoogleVideo, Angry Alien, ArtistDirect, Blastro, Blennus, Blip.tv, Bofunk, Bolt, Break.com, Castpost, Current TV, Dailymotion, DevilDucky , FindVideos, Free Video Blog, Google, Grinvi, Grouper, Hiphopdeal, iFilm, LuluTV, Metacafe, Midis.biz, Music.com, MusicVideoCodes.info, Myspace, MySpace Video Code, Newgrounds, PcPlanets, Pixparty, Putfile, Revver, sharkle , StreetFire, That Video Site, The One Network, VideoCodes4U, VideoCodesWorld, VideoCodeZone, vidiLife, VIDNET.com, Vimeo, vSocial, Web62.com, ZippyVideos, and that more will be added over time converters.

It is an excellent article. The lack of support for video streaming in Palm makes the wifi is relegated only to surf the Internet, sharing one another file and hear the latest online radio. It would be great to have Flash for the huge screen of the Palm T | X with streaming from the factory.
Another problem with that is that I faced VIXY and others do not make the video with certain options, which is sufficient for a normal user ... But some of us are fussy and want to make sure all goes as we want. That's why I made a very simple script for this.
It only works on linux and as far as I know with firefox. When the plugin loads the flv flash, it makes the folder / tmp (at least in Debian) with a name that starts with Flash and a few letters behind. This is good if we want to save bandwidth for not lose again the same video. Interesting for those who see it as a documentary Zeitgeist or Youtube while many programs are going to work or college.
#!/bin/bashif [-d. / flv]
then
echo "The directory already exists fork!"
else
mkdir flv
fi
if [-d. / avi]
then
echo "The directory avi already exists!"
else
mkdir avi
fi
for i in / tmp / Flash *; do
ID = `echo $ i | cut-d /-f3 | cut-d. -f1 `
echo ""
echo "($ Reverting video ID) Flash"
echo ""
mencoder / tmp / $ (ID)-quiet-vf scale = 480:320, harddup-ofps 25-ovc lavc-oac mp3lame-o. / avi / $ (ID). avi
echo "$ (moving source file to the folder ID) flv"
echo ""
mv / tmp / $ (ID). / fork / $ (ID)
echo "================================================ ========================="
done
Hola La Palma.
I would like pulling a figure more ...
The best we can do, for these purposes, is to use the plugin firefox download helper and once we are. FLV reproduce it with Kinoma 4, which publishes as soon as possible on my blog with the serial. With regard to YouPORN or videos from PornoTube, are encoded with a version 2 codec flash hence Kinoma does not support them.
The solution, at least in Linux is with ffmpeg
user @ pc: ffmpeg-i-s archivo.flv (resolution of your palm) archivofinal.avi
in windows should have a version for ffmpeg, is open source.
I have not found yet.
But if not Manopeludos videos, you can see the FLV with Kinoma.
Incidentally, my thanks for everything learned in this web
Xephandor: It seems that we are more than what we believe we use the Palm in linux
Anyway ... mencoder is based on ffmpeg, I think. It would be more direct encoding with the codec, forgive the repetition. But surely it is better not to rely on Mozilla's Firefox plugin. Anyway ... pulling one end of the rope, loosen the other
Hug.
At some point I could watch videos on youtube (and I seem to remember that google) also with the Kinoma, directly from the application online and accessing these videos (even had access to webcams, and other herbs). But for some time that I get error when I try to do it. Not if the version of Kinoma (Cracked). Even I get error (FFFF) when I try the option to Update. And re several times this program with the same result. Someone knows something more?
THANKS! ... And proceed with the PDAdeTungsteno!
The latest version of coreplayer, also has support for YouTube videos from a direct from any device with Palm OS.
greetings
Excellent post Marcos, and are also excellent comments, of course that will take into consideration as they currently use Ubuntu rather than Windows. Greetings.
Poor people Kinoma, such an excellent player for Palm and nobody paid! (neither do I: S)
I personally went through these duties to download the flv / convert / download to PDA and I must say that when you're in the middle of the slaughter you were the mood entirely. The time lost is justified only to someone very important to take video and nothing more. He should have a Firefox extension that allows download and convert videos on the fly, perhaps there.
For Windows Mobile in particular there is a> a href = "http://geekotic.com/2007/10/28/youtube-y-otros-en-windows-mobile/"> plugin for TCPMP that not only plays files that flv but bear in memory that allows browsing with Pocket Internet Explorer, view videos online or download them to our board.
Dear friends, the article is excellent and I would like to contribute something more to the subject if I may. I share the opinion of the author's TCPMP however this process FLV conversion to another format in addition to carrying a little more time we generated quite a lot heavier. So where is the TCPMP for Palm Os does not have the plug if it has the version for WinMobile however, and I think it's only for Palm, 4.x Kinoma Player if you read the native flv, for a palm that is more than sufficient in terms of quality and sound, not only because it is naturally more lightweight. I'm doing a mini page on the Palm that I would put this and many other programs available in full to those who need and now my congratulations on such an excellent site. If you want to contact me my email is claudeville@gmail.com
Since I got my Tungsten E2 and I found this page has helped me a lot to occupy my palm only because it is just an agenda, congratulations on this blog!.
I would only make a small contribution, I use the VDOWNLOAD to download videos from youtube, I select the type VCD to download the video (you can download in AVI, MPG, WMV, 3GP, etc ...), then pass it directly to the memory and SD As reprodusco with TCPMP, I do this only with youtube, try using the other pages and tips.
Thank you
Errata, I said in my previous comment q
