I've always been a faithful user of the Web browser Opera Mini. On machines with limited RAM and my P3300 (especially since it runs Windows Mobile 6.5) does not get better. It's amazing that a browser with so little "weight" and as fast and usable, is programmed in Java. But some time ago that was not updated, and increasingly it was becoming less competitive compared.
So very pleasantly surprised me the appearance of Opera Mini Beta 5. I have used it for several days and the feeling could not be [...]

The theme of the installation of Java on the Palm has never been too clear, and although we have seen that there is a Java virtual machine for Palm, and detailed how to install it and Java programs, to have it clearer I recommend visiting the Blog Leo, where he has written a tutorial detailing a trick that we will be victorious in our struggle with Java on PalmOS. And as a bonus we are bound to a review of Gmail for Palm machines, which will run after you install the Java virtual machine.
Usually installing the Java virtual machine in [...]

David Chaves from Costa Rica, sent us this collaboration which expands the explanation of how to install the Java Virtual Machine on the Palm, to get running on our Palm Java applications that are available online. Thanks, David!
I want to make a series of steps and files to the proper use of Java applications on the Palm, such as mobile games. To perform this procedure should download the following files:
IBM Virtual Machine: WEME571.zip.
Simulation Toolkit: Java_Tech_for_Garnet_WEME57.zip. (download original)
JAD Maker: JAD_Maker.zip (website).
Java Virtual Machine for Palm is developed by IBM
It should install the following files in the [...]

Continuing the theme of the programs that came on the CD that came with our handhelds, and that we want to recover for various reasons, it is the turn into the IBM WebSphere Micro Environment, the Java virtual machine for PalmOS devices. Until recently, you had to register on their website to get it, and it was unclear which teams were entitled to get free. TamsPalm reading I learn that is available worldwide. Everyone can see if you qualify for lower it. This virtual machine is required to run Java programs such as Opera Mini, [...]

As we saw in a previous post, there is the possibility of developing programs for our Palm writing in C, using only free tools and free. But as rightly pointed Josemar in a comment for that post, let us not forget another great language: Java.
Thanks to the Java virtual machine developed by IBM, the WebSphere Everyplace Micro Environment, any JavaME MIDlet MIDP 2.0 is scheduled to run smoothly on a Palm. For those who have not programmed using J2ME (Micro Edition), have only to think of it as a smaller version of J2SE (Standard Edition) devices optimized for [...]

Some time ago in this blog Keyring recommended the program to store our passwords securely on your Palm, to create new random passwords when needed, and other related tasks. To simplify the process of entering all the passwords, usernames, notes relating to each, so we can use Java Keyring, a program for the PC that allows you to change that Keyring is stored on your Palm.
This program lets you edit the backup data stored Keyring, which is done in our computer every time you do a hotsync. At the next hotsync [...]

Opera Software has finally released Opera Mini, the handheld version of its famous multi-platform Web browser, with version for Palm. This mobile version maintains the characteristics of his elder brother, speed, nice interface and accessibility.
This is a Java application, specifically MIDP 2.0 profile. Therefore, we must install the Java virtual machine in our palm, and then run the Opera Mobile. This virtual machine is required to run this and other Java applications on Palm. These are the steps to install both components:
The Java virtual machine (specifically the WebSphere Everyplace Micro Environment, [...]
